Febriana Firdaus

Febriana Firdaus is an independent investigative journalist based in Indonesia. Her investigations appeared in TIME, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Mongabay, Rappler, and TEMPO. She received The Society of Publishers in Asia Awards (SOPA) for excellent reporting on the environment for her 'vigorous and detailed look at a major environmental problem' in 2019.

She has been promoting gender-balanced reporting and introducing intersectionality—a technique that changes the journalist's way of looking more at the power & division in society and exposes its impact on the underrepresented communities, particularly on women and children.
